SJ PCU 4N DAYS 100 mile radius rule (strictly enforced) will not take locals Candidates must have experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience with a solid PCU skillset and successful completion of at least 1 travel contract. Candidates must pass clinical resume review to be submitted to the facility for considerationUnit Candler 4N - # Beds: 12 - Nurse Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 depending on acuity - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS - Common diagnoses/Types of patients Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, heart failure, etc. Unit is a combo of MedSurg and Stepdown - RN;s are assigned as needed. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Telemetry - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: PCU Nurse will titrate - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: set rate - NO PHLEBOTOMY - RN's pull their own labs - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 12 - 1 - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Nasal, face masks, bipap - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? No, it is monitored on the 3rd floor - Are RNs required to read their own strips? No - What brand are the tele monitors?: Space Lab - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): Yes to self-scheduling - Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend - Holiday Requirements: Yes - Is there call or a standby requirement?:. No - Floating Requirements: No - Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy scrubs - Yes - Unit/Department specific orientation: One day computer skills with basic knowledge assessment test, two shifts in orientation w preceptor - Yes
