Job Description

Position Summary: The Registered Nurse - Pacemaker Electrophysiology assists clinic providers and staff in the deliverance and coordination of patient care, in order to facilitate patient satisfaction, clinic efficiency, and provider productivity. This position is responsible to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while working in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team. Registered Nurses plan and implement patient and family education. The Nurse Practices Act and Administrative Rules of the state of Montana govern registered Nursing practice.Minimum Qualifications:Required:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license.Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationOne (1) year of registered nursing experience.International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certificationExperience managing cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).Experience with device platforms from major manufacturers, including Biotronik, Medtronic, Abbott (formerly St. Jude Medical), and Boston Scientific.Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia management and electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) interpretation.Essential Job Functions:In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.Interrogates cardiac implantable electronic devices, monitors and documents patient response to device therapy and programming changes, adjusts device settings in accordance with provider orders, manages remote device monitoring, and troubleshoots device-related concerns.Arranges and coordinates follow-up care for patients receiving services through the Device Clinic.Maintains device clinic databases and patient records to support accurate documentation, reporting, and continuity of care.Performs diagnostic tests and treatments as ordered by the provider, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), event monitors, Holter monitors, and Zio Patch application, removal, and data processing.Coordinates and schedules surgical and procedural interventions related to cardiac implantable electronic devices and associated patient care needs.Collaborates with radiology, surgical, anesthesia, and other interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices undergoing MRI studies, surgical procedures, or other interventions.Maintains examination and treatment rooms to ensure cleanliness, organization, and appropriate stocking of supplies and equipment.Collaborates with providers to assess and coordinate care for walk-in and urgent patient needs within the clinic.Provides education, support, and ongoing guidance to patients and families regarding cardiac implantable electronic devices, arrhythmia management, and electrophysiology-related procedures, including ablation therapy.Participates in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and departmental initiatives to support safe, effective, and efficient patient care.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.Exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality.Perform essential job functions successfully in a fast-paced environment.Learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.Demonstrate the Bozeman Health SPIRIT values of: Service, People, Integrity, Respect, Improvement, and Teamwork.Schedule RequirementsThis role requires regular and sustained attendance.The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.Physical RequirementsLifting (Repeatedly 50 pounds): Exerting force and/or using a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects or people.Sit (Occasionally): Maintaining a sitting posture for extended periods may include adjusting body position to prevent discomfort or strain.Stand (Repeatedly): Maintaining a standing posture for extended periods may include adjusting body position to prevent discomfort or strain.Walk (Repeatedly): Walking and moving around within the work area requires good balance and coordination.Climb (Rarely): Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like using feet and legs; Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
