Short Description:24hr shifts inhouse doing deliveries. 12-week contract length, extendable depending on needs. certified AMCB, ACLS, BLS, NRP, OBDNN and OK license and OK DEA / OBDNN Complete Description:Typically 7 -24 hr shifts per month, some days may be Fri, Sat or Sun but the weekends may be covered by locums or full-time family practice providers so not consistent on weekends. Will always be off post call. There will also be opportunities to see patients in the Women's Clinic but that is not the primary purpose of the midwifes. There is a designated call room. Midwifes triage all patients, admit, deliver uncomplicated vaginal deliveries and perform discharges on non-cesarean section patients. Physician is consulted on complicated patients, perform operative deliveries and round on those patients. 5-6 births per day at this time. With the new hospital we are anticipating an increase but that will be several months away. No, but can work 2 shifts with 24 hrs between. Midwives deliver patients' babies in either birthing centers, patients' homes, or hospital settings. They provide emotional support and guidance before, during, and after labor.
